BIJF Day-out 2024, a gathering of IT journalists
Bangladesh ICT Journalists Forum-BIJF, a government-listed professional organization of media workers working in the science, information technology and telecom sectors, celebrated the Day-out 2024 in a festive vibe.
The Day-out took place at the Pubail Resort Club in Gazipur on Friday, March 1. The festival turned into a day full of joy. Parents enjoyed the day of joy with their children. Fresh air in green surrounding, candy-floss sweet air engulfed them in pure joy of life. For ladies, there were three games events including musical chair and pillow-pass. Apart from cricket and badminton tournaments, half a dozen games were played in the festival. There was boating, shooting, swimming and video selfie. Traditional pithas in the afternoon made the event special. The BIJF family spent the day in double joy with the common gift along with raffle draw prizes in the evening. For the first time every child of the members received a gift this time.
On Family Day, special prayers were served for the salvation of the departed souls of Momo Hasan, wife of Hasan Zakir of Dainik Samakal; RTV Broadcast Journalist Mohammad Masum Hossain Bhuya and Deputy Editor of Computer Jagat Moin Uddin Mahmud Swapan. They also prayed for quick recovery of ailing Senior members Mahmudul Hossain and Rezaurshta Rahman Rizvee. Prayers were organized in a local mosque.
Daily Prothom Alo's 'A' team led by Abdur Razzak became the champion in the Friendly Cricket Tournament organized on the occasion of the festival. Siam became the Man of the Match. Badal Khan of Prothom Alo and Jahangir Sur of Dainik Amader Somoy performed the duty as umpires.
Himi, Mainul and Ridhi won the Chocolate race for Children. The event was conducted by the Daily Prothom Alo's Md. Mintu Hossain and Independent TV's Touhidul Islam Tushar. Liana, Zoaira and Jessy won the chocolate picking game and Suha, Rabita and Taseem won the throwing balls into basket event.
Bhuiya Md. Enam Lenin, editor of monthly Computer Bichitra, Jahangir Sur, senior sub editor of Dainik Aam Samham, Shahjalal Rohan, staff reporter of Saradin News won the couple ball throw event at the festival.
Among ladies, in the pillow pass event, Shawkotara Begum, mother of Jahangir Sur, assistant editor of Dainik Amader Somoy; Fatima Bhuiyan, wife of The Daily Messenger Head of News Nasir Uddin; and Runa Akhtar, wife of Mahbub Sharif of Digital Times were awarded prizes.
Rumana Yasmi wife of Saiful Islam Shanta of BizTech24; Nusrat Jahan wife of Haseeb of TechShahr; Sharmila Cinderella wife of Jahangir Sur were awarded in musical chair event.
The winner of the boys' throwing balls into basket event were Hasan Zakir of Dainik Samakal; Sohail Rana of Computer Jagat and Sumon Chowdhury of Dainik Bangladesh Kantha.
In the raffle draw, Jahangir Sur won the first prize of a Huawei laptop; Jannatul Islam Rahat, staff reporter of Daily Sun, won the second prize of 50-inch smart TV; and Mostafizur Rahman Sohag of Tekalo News won the third prize of walton fridge.
Leaders of commercial organizations also attended the family gathering of BIJF members including e-CAB President Shomi Kaiser, Vice President Sahab Uddin Shipon, General Secretary Md Abdul Waheed Tomal; BACCO Vice President Tanveer Ibrahim, Director Musnad E Ahmed; Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society (BFDS) President Tanjiba Rahman; Convener of 'Amrai Digital Bangladesh' Liaquat Hossain, Huawei Bangladesh and South Asia Head of Media Tanveer Ahmed Mithun and others.
BIJF president Nazneen Nahar delivered the welcome address on the occasion. General Secretary Sabbin Hasan delivered the closing speech. Co-Editor Bhuiya Mohammad Enam Lenin, Co-General Secretary Sajedur Rahman, Organizing Secretary Ariful Islam Arman, Treasurer Saiful Islam Shanto, Publication Editor Asaduzzaman Limon and Executive Members Enamul Haque and Imdadul Haque were present.
